We’re looking forward to the first Spring games on Friday, April 5 at Gate City Baptist Church. Please refer to the schedule which can be found on the “Schedules” tab. Here are a few notes and also some reminders regarding the host site – Gate City Baptist.
Publications
- Women’s games are scheduled on Fridays and can be identified on the schedule by the highlighted games.
- As ratified at the Spring coach’s meeting, Updated BAU Bylaws have been published to the Documents tab.
Children
We absolutely love the family atmosphere at our games. We want everyone to enjoy themselves, the games and the facilities. Please notify BAU representatives of anything that is interfering with the family-oriented environment we are desiring to provide.
Part of maintaining the appropriate environment is appropriate monitoring ans supervision of children.
- Please monitor your children and be sure they are not throwing rocks or sticks anywhere, respecting the playground equipment and bathrooms.
- Please ensure children are not entering the wooded area around the playground and picnic area. There are residences very close to the church property and we want to be good neighbors.
- Please remind children not to run the bases after games. We are trying our best to stay on schedule and respect everyone’s time. If teams linger on the field and in dugouts between every game we fall significantly behind schedule by the time the 9:00 game arrives.
Facilities
- No concessions will be offered this Spring. We do hope to resume concessions operations at some point in the future.
- Bathroom facilities will be open. Please notify BAU representatives of anything that needs to be addressed in the bathrooms.
- Please make sure that you clean up all of your waste items and place them in the trash bins at carious locations around the field and picnic shelter. Please DO NOT throw large/bulky items (Large boxes, broken chairs, bats, etc.) into the bins at the field/shelter. Either place them beside the bins under the shelter or eel free to place them directly in the dumpster in the church parking lot.
- Please ensure that there is a can liner and that the liner has not fallen into the bin before placing trash into the bin. If possible, poor liquids out of bottles and cups before throwing them away.
Parking
- Parking past the double-gate “down the hill” is reserved for fans who really need a short walk (elderly, pregnant ladies, parents with strollers, wheelchairs/canes/crutches, etc). Please reserve the spaces down the hill for these purposes. (Pulling down to drop off and drive back up the hill is perfectly fine)
- There is no parallel parking anywhere on site. This includes, well, everywhere. DO NOT pull in and park in front of the closed gate. DO NOT pull down the hill and park along the wooden ties by the woods.
- Please park in MARKED SPACES ONLY on the blacktop. DO NOT “invent” your own parking space. We have noticed that some players and fans have tried to create their own spaces at the top of the hill near the field entrance. Please DO NOT do this. It severely reduces the two-way traffic flow and creates a danger for pedestrians. While no one wants to do it, Gate City will have your vehicle towed if it is creating a situation where traffic flow is impeded.
